Reintroduced to the Upper Peninsula in the winters of 1985 and 1987, a moose herd is once again established in the U.P. Visitors to the area can take a guided tour or ride the beautiful forested back country roads in search of the elusive moose. Unfortunately, the DNR are no longer producing the Moose Locator Guide as they have dispersed throughout the Upper Peninsula and their whereabouts is unpredictable. This is due to their wide ranging habits. (Moose have been known to travel 100 miles in one day)
